Split Front Pottery Apron

Potting can be a dirty business. So we collaborated with AKA Designs to create this split-front pottery apron that samples the best features of every pottery apron we’ve ever worn. The front flaps keep your legs clean and dry. There is a loop for your towel, a side pocket for tools, and a chest pocket for your phone (perfectly positioned to shoot throwing videos with your webcam). 

 
Our favorite design feature: It is made from repurposed vintage tent fabric! The fabric is water resistant, and embodies wabi-sabi character created by years of use and repairs. Just like potters, each apron is unique.
 
Olive drab vintage fabric finished with new heavy-duty grommets and adjustable black cotton webbing straps.

AKA Designs are handmade by textile conservator and costume designer Kristin Bernstein in Evanston, IL,. Kristin’s makes and designs can be found on many Chicagoland stages, in various museums and even the Shedd Aquarium. She works from her home studio under the careful supervision of her daughter, Amelia.
